please sign the petition and advise your councillor. This road idea is a really stupid one.


Apparently, one idea for adapting the parkway construction is to put in culverts. Yeah, ok, I'll take off my skis... walk 60 m in a culvert... then put them back on. Sheesh. Me thinks a bunch of planners, councillors, and consultant needs to be brought for a walk, bike, and ski through these trails.

A shot from above The Wall loop, looking over Lake Laurentian. The City of Greater Sudbury has a 4-lane parkway included in the Official Plan (warning, big PDF) which will cut right through this location and the lake. Sheesh.

The Laurentian Nordic ski club has more up to date information on the issue, including an online petition and how to provide comments to the consulting firm currently updating the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
